An Overview

The Department of Oral medicine and Radiology of College of Dental Sciences is a doorway of opportunities and quality education. It is an academic center in which education, research and patient care occurs simultaneously, each informing and improving the other. We believe in ‘Prevention is better than cure’. Our Department is an integrated research centre where new ideas are encouraged and active research is done in collaboration with several other institutions.

We believe in overall development and priming of the young minds. The “Gutkha and Tobacco Awareness Programme” is in progress thus lending a hand towards a tobacco free society. We are associated with Karnataka Hemophiliac Society and various NGOs and provide dental education to students and villagers. The oral radiology department is well equipped with recent technologies including CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography), intraoral as well as extraoral digital radiography. The challenges of screening & diagnosing various dental problems are met in the oral medicine wing on a daily basis.
